Google Earth is really really cool. You should go take a look. You do have to download a client (10 MB…yep…Alan, it's bloatware), but once you do, you get to "fly" in on any location. Check it out!
Disconnecting Terminal Services Sessions from the Command Line
I needed to do this today at work and couldn't figure it out. After surfing for a while, I found that you can do it from the command line.

Persecution Blog
Do you want to stay current with the state of Christian persecution in the world today? I found this yesterday:
Purpose In Life
Today's My Utmost for His Highest had real bearing on where I am in my life right now. Here is the text:
Rehabilitation means the putting back of the whole human race into the relationship God designed it to be in, and this is what Jesus Christ did in Redemption. The Church ceases to be a spiritual society when it is on the look-out for the development of its own organization. The rehabilitation of the human race on Jesus Christ's plan means the realization of Jesus Christ in corporate life as well as in individual life. Jesus Christ sent apostles and teachers for this purpose – that the corporate Personality might be realized. We are not here to develop a spiritual life of our own, or to enjoy spiritual retirement; we are here so to realize Jesus Christ that the Body of Christ may be built up.
Am I building up the Body of Christ, or am I looking for my own personal development only? The essential thing is my personal relationship to Jesus Christ – "That I may know Him." To fulfil God's design means entire abandonment to Him. Whenever I want things for myself, the relationship is distorted. It will be a big humiliation to realize that I have not been concerned about realizing Jesus Christ, but only about realizing what He has done for me.
"My goal is God Himself, not joy nor peace, Nor even blessing, but Himself, my God."
Am I measuring my life by this standard or by anything less?
Well, am I? I want to be…I just don't know how to make it be. I know that we are commanded to be God's ambasadors wherever we are. I also know that going to "church" has no bearing on doing that or not. But how do you do that? How do you get involved outside of church? When I worked a secular job, I met people there. Other than that, I went to church. In Richmond, I work with believers. I go to church. How can I get involved in the community to meet people?
Right now, I'm having a great struggle with what I want to do and know I should do and how to get there. "Missionaries" aren't the only ones called. All Christians are called to witness. Some are called overseas while others are called here. Yet others are called to go about their jobs here and be witnesses that way.
Please pray with me that God would show me how I can be involved with Him and His work where I am right now in Richmond.
Awesome Story
I received this from a coworker today. It is shared with her permission. God is Awesome!
Many of you know that my mom was diagnosed with bone cancer a couple of years ago. Her condition has continued to worsen as the cancer has slowly spread. Bone cancer is extremely painful and she has been taking morphine for quite awhile now. A couple of weeks ago she was to begin 18 weeks of chemo once a week on Thursdays. Because of her breast cancer they are unable to give it to her in the normal way and were going to put in a “port” in her neck to administer the chemo. Before beginning treatment she went to Minnesota for a week to visit her older sisters – “for the last time.”
When she returned to Wisconsin, she began to vomit and couldn’t keep anything down. After about a week she was admitted into the hospital. They tried to perform a brain scan but the vomiting wouldn’t let them continue. They were able to do an MRI and some other tests and were able to confirm that as far as they were able to determine, the cancer has not spread to her other organs yet. They couldn’t figure out what was causing the vomiting, however, and any medication they tried didn’t work.
On Thursday, my mom had a very bad day. She was in a lot of pain and the vomiting continued. She was weak and just wanted to die. She cried out to God around midnight to either take away the nausea and vomiting or to take her Home. A short time later a nurse came in with a pill for her to take. She said it would help with the nausea. My mom took the pill and almost immediately began to feel better. The next day when her two doctors came to check on her they asked her how she felt. She responded that she felt much better and that the nausea and vomiting had stopped. They asked her what had changed. She told them about the nurse who came in with some medicine for her.
They told her that they had not prescribed anything new for her. They checked the charts and there was no notation made for the medication given in the night. They asked my mother for a description of the nurse and they had no one who matched that description working there. They then brought the big pill book for her to identify the pill she was given. She found it and pointed out a small yellow pillow. The doctor confirmed that it was a pill given for nausea but he said that her medical bracelet that she always wears because she is allergic to many kinds of medicine indicated that she could not have this pill. He then made a note in her charts that she could be given this pill.
Both of her cancer doctors are born-again Christians. One of them said, “It must have been an angel. There’s no other explanation for this.”
Yesterday she was able to leave the hospital. She is currently staying with one of my sisters so someone can be with her 24/7.

Tour de France
Last year around tour time, I got interested in watching. I’m watching again this year. I know there is some strategy involved (think chess on bikes) but I don’t get it. In any other sport, you want to get in the lead and stay there. If you aren’t you get worried. But in today’s section, Lance was way way back from the stage winner. Was he worried? He didn’t act like it. In fact, you could say he was glad to get rid of the yellow jersey for a while. I don’t get it. Anyone have any insignts?
[Update 2013-01-18 06:58:05] Lance has admitted to doping.
Williamsburg
Cyndi and I once again visited WIlliamsburg yesterday. We have some more pictures posted. To see them, click here.
By the way, in a previous post, David–a guy we know from Columbus–asked about the glass harmonica. I've never heard of any such thing. Anyone have any ideas? David, want to chime in?

Dairy Industry
Agape Press is reporting that Ellison Bakery has pulled its adds from a trade publication.
For years Ellison Bakery has advertised extensively in Dairy Field magazine, a trade publication for the dairy industry. Recently, however, Dairy Field ran an editorial critical of conservative pro-family groups such as the American Family Association for censuring Kraft Foods for its pro-homosexual policies. AFA has particularly targeted Kraft lately because of the food company's sponsorship of the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago.
Upon seeing the editorial criticizing the pro-family group, Ellison Bakery general manager Todd Wallin quickly pulled the company's $20,000 advertising account from the magazine. "This is not a personal attack against people who have chosen this type of lifestyle," he hastens to explain, adding that homosexuals, like all people "are created in the image of God." Nevertheless, the executive adds, "I don't support things that would promote people making those bad choices."
If I bought dairy cookies, I would buy them from Ellison.
