John 15:5

I’m trying to memorize scripture in Serbian.  I’m currently doing the 1st Master Life book so the verses I’m going to pick will be the verses from that study.  Here is the first one:

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Here is the verse from my Serbian Bible:

Ја сам чокот а ви лозе и који буде у мени и ја у њему он ће родити многи род јер без мене не можете чинити ништа.

Јобан 15:5 (in latin letters)

[Update 09-19-2008 09:13:18] I had to remove the italics on the Serbian verse above.  I’m sorry…I forgot that to make some letters italic, they actually change.  Sorry

Psalm 61

I was reading today when I came across Psalm 61:

1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
6 Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.
7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

It sounds as if David was near the end of his rope (or very busy/concerned with many things) when he wrote it. I’ve been in that place several times (feeling overwhelmed) and God has always taken care of me. I just wanted to briefly point this out just in case someone who reads this blog may be in the same situation.

Scripture Verse

Every week at work, we have a different verse of the week.  I thought this weeks verse was good:

Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Ezekiel 36:23

This was our "verse for the week" at work this week. It really struck me, so I thought I would post it here:

23And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

Ezekiel 36:23

Psalms 67

Psalms 67

1God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

2That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

3Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

4O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

5Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

6Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

7God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Memory Verse

23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Matthew 1:23
