Also like in the US, some of the houses in town are nicer than others. Actually, that is one of the most shocking things about town….instead of being segmented into suburbs, people have built wherever they have the space. There can be a super duper nice place in town right across the street (or even next door to) a place that is a shack next to a place that is even worse. It is simply amazing to me the amount of contrast that exists in such a confined space. But remember, we have the same contrasts (and even larger ones)….they are simply spread out by 10 or 15 miles so you loose the same sense of scale.
