Every time we sing the hymn Standing on the Promises, it bothers me. I remember the lyrics for the chorus like this:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of Christ my Savior;
standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.
But the current edition of the Baptist Hymnal has the chorus like this:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of God my Savior;
standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.
