do outlets in the UK all have switches? there must be a historical reason but, to me, why not have them hot all the time? I forget all the time to switch them on.

Im = twitter email = blog phone = podcast not sure if I buy into that. every one of those is a unidirectional replacement for a bidirectional thing.
to think about
computers replaced typists functionally but not positionally. what this means is that computers replaced the device / position but didn’t make everyone realize the importance of archiving and the process.
