62 inches of snow in 48 hours. That would be wonderful!
As a kid there were some times where I lived in that kind of snow. Huge piles of it against our house where you could jump off the roof into snow drifts. But that had a lot to do with wind as well as snow quantity.
It can be fun but it has to happen somewhere that has the infrastructure to handle that kind of snow fall for it to be fun.
Of course, we had cross country skis and snowmobiles and good winter snow suits and stuff to make playing in the snow fun and not just exhausting. And I was 12..that helped.
On a darker note; If it happened where you are (or where I am) it would cause nothing but trouble (and, sadly, probably some deaths).
Matt Maxson I remember MANY snow storms as a Kid in Davis that it Snowed and covered the car’s from Ground up!!! Not drifting either! We built tunnels and underground shelters in the back yard at the house a few times I can remember. We also had enough snow a coupe time we got out the CAR HOODS and rode them down off the park hills in middle of Davis👍 I’m sure we probably saw many ah storms of 66 inches and MORE
It must have been an incredible site to see 66+ inches of snow fall in one storm. Even when I lived in the Rockies I never saw that kind of snow. But I'm guessing I'm younger than you - in 78 (the year with a huge storm) I would have just been 5-6 years old.
